Message from the Head of the Department
Department of Applied Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering
Haldia Institute of Technology
Warm Greetings to Everyone,
The Department of Applied Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering at Haldia Institute of Technology
(HIT), established in 1996, is a forward-looking academic unit committed to producing skilled professionals in
the fields of instrumentation, control systems, and industrial automation. The department follows an
Outcome-Based Education (OBE) structure, which emphasizes measurable learning outcomes and continuous
improvement. This approach ensures that students not only acquire theoretical knowledge but also develop
critical problem-solving, analytical, and design skills tailored to industry demands. The OBE framework is
implemented through clearly defined Program Educational Objectives (PEOs), Program Outcomes (POs), and Course
Outcomes (COs), all aligned with national and international engineering education standards. Instrumentation
and automation engineering, being an interdisciplinary field, integrates principles from electronics,
electrical engineering, and computer science to create and maintain systems that monitor and control
industrial processes. AEIE department provides a strong academic and practical foundation through
state-of-the-art laboratories, real-time project work, and industry-relevant training modules in areas such as
embedded systems, industrial instrumentation, and PLC/SCADA systems. The department nurtures a vibrant
academic environment supported by qualified faculty, regular seminars, industry visits, and technical
workshops. It offers excellent training and placement opportunities, with students regularly placed in
top-tier organizations in both core and IT sectors. A well-established alumni network further strengthens the
department, with former students achieving success in global companies, higher education institutions, and
research organizations. The achievements of these alumni stand as a testament to the department's academic
rigor and its commitment to developing industry-ready graduates. For those aspiring to build a successful
career in instrumentation and automation, the Department of Applied Electronics and Instrumentation
Engineering at HIT offers a highly supportive and promising platform.
Teacher's Day
Teacher's Day
Celebration
Every year on September 5th, Teachers' Day
is observed in India to commemorate the
second President of India, Dr. Sarvepalli
Radhakrishnan, on the anniversary of his
birth. From 1962 until 1967, Dr. Sarvepalli
Radhakrishnan BR, an Indian scholar,
philosopher, and statesman, presided over
India as its president. In the past, from 1952 to
1962, he was India's vice president. From
1949 till 1952, he served as India's
ambassador to the Soviet Union.
Dr. Radhakrishnan's students came to him to
celebrate his birthday in 1962, the year he
was elected President of India. He proposed
that the day be devoted to recognizing all
instructors rather than just his own birthday.
Tech Quiz
The tech quiz was held on September 25th
and 26th, which promised to be a captivating
experience for students.
The quiz featured a series of rounds, each
designed to test participants' knowledge,
problem-solving skills, and quick thinking.
From written tests to buzzer rounds and
problem-solving challenges, the competition
was intense and exciting.
CODEX
A coding competition event entitled “CODEX” was
organized by the Dept. of AEIE in association with the
ISA HIT Students’ Chapter and ISoI HIT Students’
Chapter during 4th and 6th of September, 2024.
The first day of the event was an online aptitude quiz
where the participants displayed their problem-solving
ability and logic. The second day of the event was
held on 6th September in the AEIE department where
the qualifiers of the first round came eager to grab the
first spot by displaying their coding skills.
